Women's Institute
West Leake Womens Institute is a small friendly group of about 20 members who meet monthly on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.15pm in the village hall.
The institute is part of the Soar Valley group of WI’s, which celebrated it’s 90th birthday in 2021.
Our monthly meetings normally have a speaker or a demonstration, followed by refreshments and a fun quiz or game.
There are trips out, a Christmas lunch and summer evenings in member’s gardens. The programme for 2022/23 is available here.
New members and visitors are always welcomed. Membership fees for 2022/23 are £44, visitors are charged £4 per meeting.
The Womens Institute is an international organisation, whose aim is to inspire women by advancing the education of women and girls, promote sustainable development and advance health for the public benefit.

Here are our latest photos from the WI boat trip on Wednesday 3rd August 2022. We had a great day travelling on the Peter Le Marchant Trust canal boat from Loughborough to The Plough at Normanton on Soar for lunch and returning by 3.30pm. Certainly, a day of happy memories, pleasant weather , good food and quality time together. Next year we may well do something similar, travelling instead to Mountsorrel.
